About the Hoodie sweater
The Hoodie sweater is done from the bottom up.
Firstly the ribbed edge is done and the sweater is then knitted using the stocking stitch.
Underway the middle pocket is done with gaps in both sides.
The neckline is formed using german short rows, and at last the hood is done, which is knitted with an edge that you fold into a drawstring.
A horse timber leash is inserted in the drawstring which can either be finished off with pompoms or a small tassel. You can also leave it as it is.
The sleeves are done by picking up stitches from the sleeve hole, and the sleeve dome is shaped using short rows.
Difficulty
The hoodie sweateren is for the upper intermediate knitter. Videos are included for the hard parts of the knitting process.
Yarn alternatives
There are multiple yarn alternatives that you can use:
- Peruvian highland wool + tilia from Filcolana
- Malou Light from Lang Yarns.
- Heavy merino + soft silk/mohair from Knitting for olive
Don’t forget to think about the length of the yarn, when you buy yarn.
